Tom is a registered patent and trade marks attorney and holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering, a Masters degree in Business Administration and a Diploma in Intellectual Property Practice. He joined the firm in 1996 and became a partner in 2001.
Tom’s experience in engineering and business, prior to joining Madderns, has given him a practical and commercially-focused approach to assisting clients with intellectual property matters.
Tom's areas of practice include domestic and international patents, trade marks and designs, with a particular focus on engineering-related inventions. He has a strong interest in medical devices and sustainable technologies.
Tom regularly presents on various patent law topics to groups ranging from business associations to the Law Society of South Australia.
Outside of work, Tom enjoys cycling, bushwalking, boating, camping and the occasional game of golf. |
